I would like to be able to beat high schoolers who also play overwatch and I would like to maybe go into a tournament

I am currently the captain for my schools overwatch team and my teacher recommended for me to see if I can join a team and said that I could get into gold or above but currently I am in bronze because my team is not doing great. I was wondering if I could be looked at and see if I am worth being on a team
