My ambitions for gaming are focused on joining a community or even better a team, that I can enjoy my level of gaming with, learn with, and ultimately call friends. I am a competitive gamer, and hope to become a member of a team with others in a similar position, and work with that community to create a fun loving atmosphere, but also a serious atmosphere to look deeper into games and to develop strategies to help beat out our competitors. Playing with others online is always fun and great, but it can often be difficult to communicate well, or even lead the team well, when you do not know who you are playing with and what their best qualities are.

Hello and thank you for reading over my application. My name is Joseph Cooper and I am a tech enthusiast and have been a gamer ever since developing my Steam account in 2010. Before then I was brought into gaming at a young age, playing Jak and Daxter on the PlayStation 2 accidentally deleting my father's save files since I didn't know how to read yet. I went into kindergarten with the only purpose of being able to read, so I could understand the games I was playing. Ever since then I played on every console I could, owning Xbox to PlayStation, Nintendo, didn't matter.
As I got older, I began getting more and more into technology, and eventually started collecting parts to build computers, and landed myself a job in Geek Squad in Best Buy, and now am currently working as the Technology and Sales Manager at Staples. In this position I manage staff working in my department and head all repair work needing to be done in the precinct, as well as manage the sales output for our tech repairs, and tech merchandise we sell. I have developed a lot of great relationships from these jobs, specifically in the gaming community, and that experience opened me to so many new games and ways to play them.
I started out playing CSGO very much, and got up to the rank of Master Guardian Elite, before falling off a bit due to schooling and athletics. I consistently played sports every season of the year, both for the schools I attended and as hobby. I played sports competitively in Basketball, Track and Field, Volleyball, Bowling, Ultimate Frisbee, Golf and even Disc Golf. I also was a very strong member of the Civil Air Patrol for about 5 years, stopping when I attended Southern New Hampshire University for Business and Marketing. The Civil Air Patrol is a civilian run auxiliary, associated with the United States Air Force. In this program as a cadet, you go through rigorous training and physical training as well as education on emergency services, rescue operations both on ground and in air, and astrophysics. With this training, you earn ranks and grades just as in the military, and I even attended an 11 day encampment (boot camp), an 8 day Non-commissioned officers Leadership School, and on the following year, I attended the NCOLS again as First Sergeant. This gave me huge experience in leadership and strategy, and never would have thought it would translate to my gaming hobby. When put into a position where I had to lead a squad of 40 other cadets, with proper drill formations, and proper etiquette to the program and my higher ups, I learned something I never would have learned from my regular education. I learned the true definition of being a leader. It does have to do with more specifications depending on the circumstance, but at the root of it; A leader is someone who can use the best qualities of every individual, and create an atmosphere that not only focuses on those qualities, but betters them. Taking that with me every time I play a game competitively opens more doors than I could have ever thought, and it really shows you how diverse and unique you can make yourself and your team.
With this I have tried to expand my horizons and over the last few years, I have primarily played games such as: Destiny and Destiny 2, CSGO, Valorant, Overwatch, Call of Duty, Rainbow Six Siege, Smite, Fortnite, Rocket League and many more. Each game I play has a completely unique style to it, and thus requires different mechanics to be used, so keeping this diverse game set, and rotating between them , I have been able to focus and improve the most important qualities of being a high level gamer.
