ambitions

As I am currently still an inexperienced player that has never joined tournaments before, I hope to be given some mentorship by players who have experience so that I can learn more from them. I also hope to be able to play unofficial scrims and practice matches between teams or even in mini tournaments so that I can gain exposure to the competitive scene.

With such exposure, I’m sure it will accelerate my improvements. After I have participated in several scrims and small tournaments as well as hit Immortal, i want to compete in the big leagues like TI itself and become a champion like how Team Spirit did in 2021! 🎉

Apart from competing on the competitive scenes, I would like to stream part time as well, to earn extra cash, gain popularity, as well as improve my skills.

All in all, my ambition is to settle for nothing less than TI champions! It might sound crazy now, but with faith and hard work, it will work!

description

I am a 17 year old carry player who loves playing Dota. I first learnt of this game a couple of years ago, but only started playing seriously in 2021.

While pro gamers at high levels are Immortal ranked, I believe that in a couple of years, I too can reach that rank. I calibrated in early 2021 as Crusader, and while juggling academics, I’m able to climb to Ancient by the end of 2021.

I have faith that I have the potential to get even better because improvement is at the core of my gaming. While solo queuing, i never blame my teammates even if they make mistakes, I focus on how I myself can get better. I often watch replays of my own matches, analysing the mistakes I’ve made and how I can correct them. I frequently watch coaching videos, such as those by GameLeap, to further enhance my game sense and techniques as a carry. By taking these steps, I’ve been able to dominate most of my ranked matches, achieving GPMs of 700+ to 800+ frequently as well as competent KD ratios (like 10-1). In my Ancient matches, I continue to win most of my matches, so I believe that with further guidance and practice, I can take my skills to the next level.

Keeping calm is another key characteristic I have that makes me a better player. I noticed that many times opponent carries or even pro carries can easily get tilted when their teams make mistakes, or when they themselves make mistakes, which affects their mentality and makes them underperform. Noting this, I’ve trained myself to be super calm, so even if mistakes are made, I keep a positive mindset and never give up, allowing me to make comebacks even if the game gets tough. This has also allowed me to work well with my pubs teammates, because I dont get triggered.

I have to admit that in terms of game mechanics (like using complex heroes), i am slightly inadequate. I am good at handling heroes that do not need to press alot of buttons, like Juggernaut, but absolutely suck at a hero like Morphling that has more complex mechanics. Despite this, my response times are still pretty decent and what I lack in mechanics, i make up for in strategy and positioning.

To sum up, while I am not yet an Immortal, I believe that I have the potential to get there in 1-2 years and become a pro gamer in the near future. I have faith that with my right mentality and with hard work, I can improve myself to be able to compete in future tournaments!
