How to choose a good team name

Keep it short: two words at most, easy to say in voice chat and to type in a tournament bracket.
Check that it is free: search the name on Discord, on social networks and in the tournaments you target, so nobody mistakes you for another team.
Think about the tag: most platforms show a 2 to 4 letter tag next to player names. Make sure yours reads well.
Stay clear of brands and offensive words: tournament organisers reject names that copy a trademark or offend, and platforms can hide them from search.
Make it last: pick a name that still works if you switch games or grow into a multigaming organisation.

FAQ

Is the team name generator free?

Yes. Generate as many names as you want; you only need an account to create your team.

How do I make a clan tag?

Take the initials of your name (Shadow Wolves becomes SW) or a short, readable abbreviation of 2 to 4 letters. The generator's clan style adds one to every idea.

Can I use a generated name for my team?

Yes, the names are suggestions for you to use. Just check that no other team or brand already uses it before you register it for tournaments.

What makes a good esports team name?

A short, pronounceable name with a clear tag, that is not already taken and does not copy a brand. Names built on an animal, an element or a place are easy to turn into a logo.
